John 8:1-11

A Woman Caught in Adultery

1 But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. 2 Now early in the morning he came again to the temple courts. ^{▼▼*Here “courts” is supplied to distinguish this area from the interior of the temple building itself} And all the people were coming, ^{▼▼Some manuscripts have “were coming to him”} and he sat down and ^{▼▼*Here “and” is supplied because the previous participle (“sat down”) has been translated as a finite verb} began to teach ^{▼▼*The imperfect tense has been translated as ingressive here (“began to teach”)} them.
